Turia Pitt is joining forces with YoPRO to help runners find their reason

On Sunday, 31 August, Sydney will host Australia’s first-ever marathon major. With 50,000 runners from more than 100 countries, the 2025 TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS is set to be the largest running event the country has ever seen – and YoPRO is on a mission to ensure every runner has the fuel and the motivation to get there.

As the Official Yoghurt Partner of the marathon, YoPRO is teaming up with endurance athlete Turia Pitt to launch Every Runner Has a Reason, a campaign that shines a light on the personal motivations that keep runners going when their bodies and minds are calling on them to stop. From chasing milestones to raising funds, or simply proving something to yourself, these reasons are what makes the 42.2K more than just a run.

Most marathon runners aren’t chasing a podium – they’re running for a reason,” Turia says. “Every early alarm, sore muscle and step to overcome self-doubt is part of something bigger.”

“Anyone who crosses the finish line of a marathon is a legend,” Turia says.

“Having a really compelling reason why can give you strength, particularly when it gets tough.” Turia says. “Even though a marathon seems like a sole pursuit, there’s actually a lot of other people who help you to be there. Think about them when you’re struggling.”

How to get involved? At the Pre-Marathon Expo, YoPRO will fuel runners with complimentary protein yoghurts, offer personalised running gear printed with their very own “reason”, and host an on-stage inspirational talk with Turia.

On race day, the YoPRO Recovery Village near the finish line will provide ice-cold YoPRO pouches, a recovery space, live music, and a Polaroid wall to capture the celebrations!

Plus, in partnership with GoFundMe, YoPRO will donate over $10,000 to the fundraising drives of marathoners who are just shy of their fundraising targets, to make their “why” possible.

Turia’s Top Tips for Marathon Day

  1. Trust your training. “Train hard, race easy. You’ve done all the work – race day is about celebrating it.”
  2. Break it down. “At 30km, another 10 might feel impossible. Run one kilometre at a time, reflect, reset, and keep going.”
  3. Shift your mindset. “When it sucks, accept that it sucks. Then think about the people you’re grateful for who helped you get here.”
  4. Soak in the dash to the finish line. “The last kilometres are the juicy part. Try and soak it all in and enjoy it.”
  5. Recover smart. “Rehydrate, get some oranges in, have a good dinner. The next week, do some foam rolling and light mobility work. Most importantly, savour your achievement. Enjoy the post-marathon bubble before jumping into your next goal.
