Australian Olympic Marathon runner, Jess Stenson, finished in tenth place at the first World Marathon Major of 2025, the Tokyo Marathon.
Finishing in an impressive time of 2:22:56, Jess earned herself a new personal best on Sunday, 2 March.
Writing on Instagram, Jess said “I had a decision to make early yesterday – either run my own race or commit to a pacing group that might stretch me more than ever before. Following the initial hustle and bustle to find my feet after the starter’s gun fired, I decided to join the pacers & I learnt so much from the challenge. My first Marathon was on the streets of Japan in 2012 & I felt the same level of satisfaction crossing the line yesterday, many years and races later. That’s the beauty of this event.”
Congratulations Jess for this major achievement.
