This year’s edition of the historically fast race featured deep and competitive elite fields.

More than 55,000 expected runners took to the streets of the Windy City for the Chicago Marathon on Sunday, October 11. According to race organizers, it’s the largest field of entrants ever assembled for the World Marathon Major, and the event also featured star-studded elite races packed with intriguing storylines.2026 Chicago Marathon Results & Tracking
Though 60-plus-degree morning temperatures and high humidity made for less than ideal racing conditions, the elite athletes still showed out. Amos Kipruto of Kenya won the men’s race in 2:01:09 after finishing as the runner-up last year, and Ethiopia’s Hawi Feysa clocked 2:13:33 to win her second straight women’s title. On the American front, Clayton Young logged the second-fastest U.S. marathon performance ever (on a record-eligible course) of 2:05:23, and Emma Grace Hurley ran an American debut record of 2:20:47 to finish seventh overall.
